Naniniwala si Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro na hindi mareresolba mag-isa ng pagpapalawig ng lockdown sa NCR Plus ang paglobo ng mga kaso ng COVID-19.

Kahapon, binanggit ng alkalde na dapat magpatupad ang pamahalaan ng “mas agresibo” at “proactive” na contact tracing at mass testing, gayundin ng pagpaparami ng mga quarantine facility at ng pagpapaunlad ng healthcare system ng bansa.

Kapag bumuti aniya ang mass testing at tracing ay maagang made-detect at maa-isolate ang mga kaso.

“The extension of [the lockdown] will not exclusively solve the problem of the increase in COVID-19 [cases] … Particularly, there should be an improvement in the number of virus and non-virus bed capacity in both public and private hospitals, and the [Department of Health] should be held accountable,” ani Teodoro sa Inquirer, Abril 4.

Binanggit din ng Marikina mayor na dapat panatilihin ng gobyerno na ligtas at virus-free ang mga workplace.

“I think the [lockdown] extension will only result in an increase in the number of individuals who will go hungry and jobless,” wika niya pa.

Ang enhanced community quarantine sa NCR Plus — Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, at Rizal — ay hanggang Abril 11 na.

Pero nananatili pa ring puno ang mga ospital at quarantine facility sa National Capital Region.
