Pinatututukan ni Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade sa iba’t ibang ahensya ang mga jeep, bus at iba pang public utility vehicle (PUV) na sumusuway sa health protocol.

Inatasan ni Tugade ang Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), at Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT) na bantayan ang mga PUV operator at driver na lalabag sa protocol laban sa COVID-19.

“I am reminding our PUV drivers and operators that they are the government’s partners in the fight against COVID-19. Their participation in this fight is crucial as they are the ones on the frontlines,” ayon kay Tugade.

Babala pa ng kalihim, posibleng masuspende o hindi kaya’y malusaw ang mga prangkisa ng PUV na magpapasaway sa health protocol.

“Failure by the driver and the operator to enforce these health and safety protocols could possibly lead to the suspension or revocation of their franchise, as these can be considered breaches of their franchise conditions,” giit pa ng kalihim.

Ilan sa mga pinatutupad na protocol sa mga PUV ay ang pagsusuot ng face mask at face shield para sa mga pasahero at driver, gayundin ang social distancing.
