Kinalampag ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang mga social media influencers at YouTube vloggers na kumikita online na magbayad ng kanilang buwis.

Sa kanilang inilabas na memorandum nitong Lunes, nakasaad na maaaring maharap sa reklamo ang mga influencers na tatakasan ang obligasyon sa pagbabayad ng tax.

“There are also reports that they are not registered with the BIR or are registered under different tax types or line of business but are also not declaring from social media platforms for tax purposes,” saad sa naturang memorunadm na pinarmahan ni BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay.

“Whatever may be the reasons, it is now the most opportune time to discuss the tax obligations of these social media influencers,” dadag pa rito.

Tinukoy naman ng ahensya ang mga social media platfroms na YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, at Twitter bilang websites kung saan talamak ang mga influencer.

“Self-employed individuals whose gross sales or gross receipts and other non-operating income do not exceed the VAT threshold of P3,000,000 shall have the option to avail of the 8% tax on gross sales or gross receipts and other non-operating income,” saad pa nila.
