Matapos ratratin ng pambabatikos dahil sa insensitibong advertisement, nanghingi ng pasensya ang Belo Medical Group mula sa publiko.

“We apologize about our recent Pandemic Effect film. Thank you for being gracious in letting us know your thoughts about it,” saad nila sa isang pahayag nitong Miyerkoles.

“We hear you. You helped us see what we failed to see, which is that the film is insensitive and upsetting. Because of this, we have taken the ad down,” pagpapatuloy nila.

“We commit ourselves to learning from this and bringing our learnings into the future.”

Ito ay matapos nilang maglabas ng advertisement na naglalaman umano ng body shaming at mental health shaming content.

Sa naturang ad na pinamagatang “#PandemicEffect,” makikita ang isang babaeng nanood ng TV. Habang naririnig ang mga bad news tungkol sa pandemic, unti-unti ring nagbabago ang itsura ng babae — dahan-dahan itong nagkaroon ng tigyawat, nag-iba ang porma ng kilay, tumaba, at nagkaroon ng mahabang buhok sa kilikili at legs.

Ayon sa mga nakapanood, pinagkakakitaan ng nasabing medical group ang mga insecurity ng kababaihan.

Halo-halo ang naging komento ng mga netizen sa public apology ng grupo. Natuwa ang iba dahil sa pagiging ‘accountable’ daw nito ngunit ang iba naman ay nananatiling dismayado.
