Pinaiimbestigahan ng mga miyembro ng Makabayan bloc ang pagsasampa umano ng gawa-gawang reklamo laban sa anak ng pinaslang na Bayan Muna Coordinator sa Iloilo.

Hiniling nina Bayan Muna Representatives Ferdinand Gaite, Carlos Isagani Zarate, Eufemia Cullamat, ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro, Gabriela Women’s Party Rep. Arlene Brosas at Kabataan Rep. Sarah Jane Elago sa House Committee on Human Rights ang pagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon sa umano’y harassment, profiling at red-tagging kay Lean Porquia.

Noong Setyembre 3, ilang ahensya ng gobyerno at ang umano’y rebel returnee na si Joy James Saguino ay naghain umano ng reklamo sa Department of Justice laban kay Porquia dahil sa paglabag umano sa Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 (RA 10364) at Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act (RA 7610).

Ayon kay Saguino hinikayat umano siya ni Porquia na sumali sa lokal na chaper ng League of Filipino Students (LFS) sa UP-Visayas-Iloilo Campus.

Si Porquia ay anak ni Jory Porquia na pinaslang sa Iloilo City noong Abril 2020.

“Whereas, the morning after his father’s assassination, Lean’s younger sister—a correspondent for independent news outfit Altermidya—was harassed and arrested by the police. Not content, the PNP later filed a criminal case against Lean’s 60-year old mother, whom they claimed was a member of the New People’s Army. Now the PNP is going after Lean,” sabi sa resolusyon.

Si Lean at ang kanyang pamilya umano ay biktima rin ng red-tagging.

“This case against him is but the latest example of the grave perils faced by activists under the current administration,” sabi pa sa resolusyon.

Naniniwala ang mga mambabatas na inaabuso umano ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) at Philippine National Police (PNP) ang sistemang legal ng bansa upang supilin ang oposisyon. (Billy Begas)
