Wagi ng ‘Outstanding Music Composition’ award ang Pinay composer na si Denise Santos sa 42nd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards kamakailan.

Ito ay para sa kanyang ginawa sa BBC documentary series na ‘Primates,’ kung saan kasama niya ang katrabahong si Adam Lukas sa Bleeding Fingers Music.

“I am still processing all of this. I am still not over being nominated and having won it. It’s a great feeling,” pahayag ni Santos sa panayam ng CNN ngayong Martes.

“I can definitely feel the support from everyone back home that I’ve worked with in the past. It’s validating. It’s overwhelmingly comforting,” dugtong pa niya.

Si Santos ay nakabase sa Los Angeles ngunit nagtapos ng kursong management sa Ateneo de Manila University.

Pagkatapos mag-aral sa Ateneo, nagkaroon siya ng professional certificate on music production sa Berklee College of Music at nag-aral ng film scoring sa University of California in Los Angeles.

Na-feature na rin ang kanyang mga obra sa mga Filipino indie films gaya ng ‘Baka Bukas’ (2016), at ‘Billie and Emma’ (2018). (mjd)
