Tiwala si presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. na hindi magtatagumpay ang inihaing disqualification petition laban sa kanyang kandidatura dahil wala umano itong legal na basehan.

Sa Nobyembre 26 nakatakdang idaos ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang pagdinig sa disqualification petition laban kay Marcos.

Ngunit ngayon pa lamang, kumpiyansa ang dating mambabatas na hindi mananalo ang naturang petisyon.

“I’ve personally seen the documents for our defense and I’ve personally discussed them with our legal team who, along with some reputable and respectable legal experts, concluded without doubt that the petition to delist my name from the roster of applicants for the presidency is without merit and has no legal basis,” pahayag ni Marcos.

Sinandalan din ng presidential aspirant ang pananaw nu UST Law School Dean Nilo Divina na nagsabing malaki ang tsansa na manalo si Marcos laban sa petisyon.

“[T]he petition is bound to collapse once evaluated by the Comelec, because it appears to be defective in form and offers insufficient legal basis to obtain its desired judgement,” ani Divina.

Si Marcos ay inirereklamo kaugnay ng kanyang conviction sa mga kasong may kinalaman sa buwis noong 1995, na dapat umanong mag-diskwalipika sa kanya sa pagtakbo sa halalan. (mjd)
