Bumuo ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ng isang task force para imbestigahan ang unauthorized transaction kung saan nawalan ng kwarta ang ilang BDO account holder.

Ayon kay BSP Technology Risk and Supervision Department director Mhel Plabasan, binubuo ang task force ng mga experto sa larangan ng cybersecurity at anti-money laundering.

Matatandaang umugong ang isyu nang magreklamo ang ilang kliyente ng BDO nang ma-transfer ang kanilang kwarta sa ilang account sa Unionbank, na ginamit naman para ipambili sa isang cryptocurrency market.

“The intention really is for us to get to the bottom of the issue and for us to identify the exact amount and number of customers who have been affected by this incident,” wika ni Plabasan sa panayam ng ANC.

“The (BSP) governor mentioned last night we have to complete the investigation in 30 days. We have to make sure all vulnerabilities on the part of BDO, receiving bank, or Instapay will be resolved or will be remediated,” aniya.

Ang mga pondo mula sa BDO accounts ay na-transfer sa Unionbank account ng isang ‘Mark Nagoyo.’

“Initially, based on prelim info, there are actually real persons behind. There are real persons behind ‘Mark Nagoyo.’ We will ensure the person behind Mark Nagoyo and the accomplices will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law,” wika pa ni Plabasan.
