Nagsimula na ang preparasyon ng soil testing para sa Samal Island-Davao City (SIDC) connector project na Davao-Samal Bridge, ayon sa project engineer ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Sinabi ni Engr. John Christian Gaden ng DPWH Bridges Management Cluster-Unified Project Management Office (BMC-UPMO) nitong Disyembre 16 na nasa design period na umano sila ngayon para sa nasabing proyekto.

“We’ve already accounted 80.06 percent accomplishment for the design stage as of November 25, 2022 which we’ve already gathered positive 0.16 percent ahead of schedule,” saad ni Gaden sa isang media forum.

Ang imbestigasyon sa borehole ay nasa Davao City side. May total na 42 sa 63 boreholes sa Davao City na natapos na at may 13 sa 18 offshore.

Ayon kay Gaden, hindi na sila nagsisimula sa borehole investigation sa Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).

“For Samal side, we were not able to conduct any borehole as this portion of the project will be subjected to expropriation case,” aniya.

Samantala, nagpasa na si Gaden ng momerandum sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) upang matingnan nito ang draft ng memorandum of agreement para sa pagsisimula ng kanilang multi-partite monitoring team.

“It’s an external body which will monitor the compliance of the contractor and the DPWH as the proponent of this project with regard to the conditions stipulated under the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC),” sabi niya.
