Nilinaw ng Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) na hindi pa final ang taas-pasahe sa Light Rail Transit-1 and LRT-2.

Mananatili umano ang presyo sa LRT-1 at LRT-2.

“The fare increase must be approved by the LRTA board of directors, and must likewise pass through required regulatory process which includes public consultation/hearing,” ayon sa LRTA.

“The approval of the LTFRB on the subject of fare increase is in the nature of the agency being a member of the LRTA board, and not in the nature of a regulatory body. The LTFRB is just one of the nine members of the LRTA board of directors,” dagdag pa nito.

Matatandaang sinabi ng LRTA na ang pagtaas sa pamasahe ay makakatulong upang makalikom ng pondo para sa pagsasaayos ng operasyon at maintenance.
