Binutata ng International Criminal Court (ICC) Appeals Chamber ang apela ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas na i-suspend ang imbestigasyon sa war on drugs noong administrasyon ni dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“The Appeals Chamber rejects the request of the Republic of the Philippines for suspensive effect of the aforementioned decision of Pre-Trial Chamber I,” ayon sa desisyon.

Kamakailan lang ay humiling ang Caritas Philippines sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na pahintulutan ang imbestigasyon ng ICC sa bansa.

“The Senate and the House of Representatives should exert pressure and issue a resolution addressed to President Marcos allowing the ICC to resume its investigation,” ayon kay executive secretary ng Caritas Philippines na si Fr. Antonio Labiao Jr.

Pati ang presidente ng Bicol Consortium for Development Initiatives (BCDI) na si Fr. Jovic Lobrigo ay pabor na magkaroon ng imbestigasyon ang ICC.

“We urge President Marcos to allow the ICC to conduct its investigation freely and show that the government is sincere in its vow to promote accountability and protect human rights,” saad nito.
