Plantsado na ang resolusyon na magtatayo ng eCongress, isang digital platform na naglalayong gawing mabilis ang ugnayan at proseso ng Senado at Kamara de Representantes.

Sa sesyon noong Miyerkoles, inampon ng Kamara ang Senate Concurrent Resolution no. 7 bilang kapalit ng House Concurrent Resolution no. 10.

“Whereas, advances in technology and greater interconnectivity present opportunities for both the Senate and the House of Representatives to update their intra- and inter-chamber processes by adopting and utilizing secure digital systems and infrastructure and online platforms in order to further strengthen coordination between them and facilitate citizen engagement in the legislative process,” sabi sa resolusyon.

Ayon sa resolusyon, nagkasundo ang Senado at Kamara na magtulungan sa pagtatayo ng isang maayos at ligtas na legislative management system, sa tulong ng information technology.

Ang kakailanganing pondo ay kukunin sa budget ng Kamara at Senado.

Ang pondo na kakailangan sa patuloy na paglinang at operasyon ng eCongress sa mga susunod na taon ay isasama sa taunang General Appropriations Act.

Ang Secretary ng Senado at Secretary General ng Kamara ang mangangasiwa sa pagtatayo ng eCongress at siyang bubuo ng joint technical working group na ang mga miyembro ay kukunin mula sa secretariat ng dalawang kapulungan. (Billy Begas)
