Tinanggi ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang alegasyon ng ACT Teachers tungkol sa umano’y profiling ng kagawaran sa kanilang mga miyembro.

Sa pahayag ng DepEd, kanilang nilinaw na walang profiling na nagaganap laban sa mga miyembro ng naturang party-list.

“The allegation that the memorandum was intended to profile the members of ACT Union as part of a supposed government anti-insurgency campaign is patently absurd, distorted, and followed no logic,” ayon sa DepEd.

“The request was publicly available and proves that it did not intend to target members of the union, as alleged by ACT,” lahad pa.

Ang memo na inirereklamo ng ACT ay isang listahan na hinihingi ng DepEd para sa mga ‘ACT Union-Affiliated Teachers’ na kukuha ng automatic payroll deduction system.

Paliwanag ng DepEd, ang naturang memo ay para ma-update ang kanilang human resource system.

Dagdag pa ng kagawaran, hindi lang ACT Teachers ang hiningan nila ng ganitong request, kundi pati ang ibang mga unyon, organisasyon, at iba pang asosasyon.

“While a memorandum sought the list of ACT Union members, separate requests were also made for the list of members of other unions, organizations, and associations of teaching and non-teaching personnel availing of the APDS,” lahad ng DepEd. (RP)
