Kung gaano gumana ang political influence ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. para sa agarang pagpasa ng Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) bill, dapat ding gamitin niya ito sa pagsulong ng mga malalaking infrastructure project, ayon kay Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.

“The president has so much political capital and so much support from Congress that he can request overwhelming number of votes from both houses to create the Maharlika, then use that same political capital and political influence for the bridge, for the dam, for the roads,” pahayag ni Pimente sa panayam sa ANC.

Ilan sa mga proyektong balak na pondohan sa ilalim ng MIF ay ang pagtatayo ng tulay mula Bataan patungong Cavite.

Nauna nang nanawagan si Pimentel kay Marcos na i-veto ang MIF bill dahil marami umanong itong loopholes o butas na hindi natugunan dahil sa pagmamadaling ipasa ang panukala sa Kongreso.

Kung hindi umano I i-veto ng Pangulo, ang Korte Suprema ang susunod na battleground para sa kontrobersiyal na Maharlika Investment Fund. (Dindo Matining)
