Romualdez itinulak mas malapit na relasyon ng ASEAN, South Korea

Itinulak ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ang mas malapit na relasyon ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at South Korea para sa pagtataguyod ng kapayapaan at pag-unlad ng rehiyon.

Pinangunahan ni Romualdez ang delegasyon ng Kamara de Representantes sa ASEAN-Korea Leaders’ Forum na ginanap sa Jeju International Convention Center (ICC) sa Jeju Island, Korea.

“I look forward to substantive discussions on how we as a collective global community can ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the region; as well as promote sustainable economic growth and enhance regional resilience, with a focus on energy and food security, among others,” sabi ni Romualdez.

Iginiit ni Romualdez na ang kapayapaan ay malaking bahagi ng pag-unlad kaya dapat itong panatilihin.

Sinabi nito na ipinagpapatuloy din ng Pilipinas ang modernisasyon ng security sector, pagbabantay ng teritoryo, at paghahanda sa mga kalamidad.

“We still have ways to go and we will look to partners like the Republic of Korea and those present today in improving these initiatives, and in working together to make sure that the geopolitical challenges of today do not undermine the possible gains of our future,” dagdag pa nito.
