Teodoro, Herbosa may ‘K’ pamunuan ang DND, DOH

Sapat umano ang kakayahan at karanasan ng mga bagong itinalagang kalihim ng Department of National Defense (DND) at Department of Health (DOH).

“Sec. Teodoro is a tried and tested public servant, and we trust that he will head the Department of Defense most capably, particularly amidst this atmosphere of brewing tensions in our waters,” sabi ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.

“And we are happy to see the Department of Health helmed by an experienced public health expert. Sec. Herbosa’s appointment comes at an opportune time, with our Regional Specialty Centers Act having just gotten bicameral approval, and we are hopeful that he will spearhead a truly whole-of-nation approach in the improvement of our public health services,” dagdag niya.

Ayon naman kay Senador Jinggoy Estrada, ang pagkakaroon ng permanenteng kalihim ng DND ay napakahalaga sa maraming mga kadahilanan.

“It ensures continuity and stability, expertise, effective coordination, policy implementation, accountability, and representation in defense and security matters. These contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the defense sector in safeguarding the nation’s security,” sambit ni Estrada.

“I am optimistic that his experience and expertise in defense matters will ensure informed decision-making and effective management of defense affairs, particularly on security challenges,” dagdag pa niya.

Hinimok naman ni Senador Joseph Victor Ejercito si Teodoro na tiyakin na magiging matagumpay ang pagpapatupad ng modernisasyon ng AFP.

“We need to expedite these efforts to put up a robust defense posture and reinforce our coastal defenses amidst growing tensions in the West Philippine Sea and South China Sea. For us to stand up to China’s bullying and protect our territorial integrity, we need a respectable armed forces that is well-equipped and adequately funded,” saad ni Ejercito.

Sinabi naman ni Senate Minority Leader Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel na malawak ang karanasan ng dalawang opisyal kaya’t madali na nilang pamumunuan ang ahensya na itinalaga sa kanila ng Pangulo.

“DND’s new challenge is the growing geopolitical tensions especially the once concerning China-Taiwan-US,” sabi ni Pimentel.

“DOH also has a full plate given the many health problems that Filipinos face. DOH’s new approach should be “value for money” and put value on all our resources. Hence, DOH should not be wasteful and value even those items donated to us,” dagdag pa ng minority leader. (Dindo Matining)
