Nadagdagan ng 59 ang mga gamot na exempted sa 12 percent value-added tax (VAT) kabilang ang para sa cancer at pang-“maintenance”.

Sa isang sulat sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), tinukoy ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang mga gamot para sa cancer, diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, kidney disease, mental illness at tuberculosis.

Ang 59 gamot ay kasama na sa listahan ng mga VAT-exempt product sa ilalim ng “Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion” o TRAIN Law, at “Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises” (CREATE) Law.

Epektibo ang naturang VAT exemption kung kailan isasapubliko ng FDA ang updated na listahan.

Samantala, inalis sa listahan ang gamot sa cancer na may generic name na Ixekizumab.

“Upon the evaluation of the certificate of product registration and package insert of [Ixekizumab], it was noted that it is approved as… treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy,” paliwanag ng FDA sa BIR. (IS)
