Inendorso ng House Committee on Youth and Sports Development ang isang resolusyon na kumikilala sa mga miyembro ng Philippine National Rowing Team na nanalo ng apat na medalya sa 2023 World Rowing Indoor Championships na ginanap sa Canada.

Ayon sa House Resolution 1288, si Kristen Paraon ay nanalo ng gintong medalya sa 19-20 Women’s 2000-meter at silver medal sa 19-20 Women’s 500-meter events.

Ang Olympian na si Cris Nievarez ay nanalo naman ng bronze medal sa 21-22 Men’s 2000-meter event samantalang si Athens Tolentino ay nanalo ng bronze medal sa 21-22 lightweight Men’s 500-meter event.

“The sterling performance of the Philippine National Rowing team in the 2023 World Rowing Indoor Championships deserves commendation for their exceptional feats for bringing honor, pride, and glory to the country and their endurance strength, and speed exemplify the best in Filipino athletes,” sabi sa resolusyon.

Ang World Rowing Indoor Championships ay isang taunang kompetisyon na inorganisa ng World Rowing mula pa noong 2018.

Lumahok sa 2023 competition na ginanap sa Toronto, Canada noong Pebrero 25 hanggang 26 ang mga rower mula sa Australia, Belgium, China, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, France, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, United Kingdom, United States of America, Pilipinas at host country Canada.
