Isa pang mambabatas ang nagsabi na tama ang naging desisyon ng Kamara de Representantes na ilipat ang kabuuang P1.2 bilyong confidential funds sa mga security agency ng gobyerno.

Ayon kay South Cotabato Rep. Peter Miguel, makatwiran ang ginawang paglipat ng pondo mula sa Department of Agriculture, Department of Foreign Affairs, Office of the Vice-President, Department of Information and Communications Technology at Department of Education sa mga ahensya gaya ng National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), National Security Council (NSC) at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

“Regardless of the differing opinions – whether pro or anti-government – I firmly believe that we, in the House of Representatives, made the correct choice by reprioritizing these confidential and intelligence funds, originally allocated to agencies like DA, DFA, OVP, DICT, and DEPED, to enhance our national security efforts and safeguard our Philippine territory,” sabi ni Miguel.

“From my perspective, this Congress bears the moral authority to address the public and reassure hard-working Filipino taxpayers, who contribute to the government’s funds, including Confidential Funds, that this reallocation serves the greater purpose of protecting our nation,” dagdag pa nito.

Tinuligsa ang Kamara de Representantes matapos itong magdesisyon na ilipat ang confidential funds.

“What truly matters to me is that the Lower Chamber took the right course of action, irrespective of its popularity,” giit ni Miguel.

“I am proud to stand in solidarity with the institution that embodies the spirit of being a ‘House of the People.’ I wholeheartedly support the House of Representatives and its esteemed House Leaders headed by Speaker Ferdinand G. Martin Romualdez,” dagdag pa ng solon.

Kumpiyansa si Miguel na makatutulong ang paglilipat ng alokasyon sa pagpapalakas ng mga ahensya na nagbantay at nagbibigay ng proteksyon sa West Philippine Sea sa gitna ng pag-angkin sa teritoryo ng bansa. (Billy Begas)
